The 12th Southeast Meeting on Soft Materials

Virtual Conference

This August 27th and 28th the combined efforts of Georgia Tech and Emory will be hosting the Southeast Soft Matter Virtual Symposium via Zoom to provide graduate students and post-docs an opportunity to share their research, navigate the job market, and advertise soft matter to early-career scientists. The event will include two scientific sessions of 10+10 minute contributed talks focusing on interactive discussions, a keynote presentation by Prof. Nick Gravish of UCSD (followed by a career networking event/happy hour with Nick), and a virtual poster session for all who were not selected for contributed talks.

We ask that you complete the registration form by July 27th 31st so we have sufficient time to sort abstracts for the 12 contributed talks. Priority will be given to senior graduate students but choices will be based on how well we find the abstracts to fit our target audience. All submissions not selected for a contributed talk will overflow into the poster conference. We will be issuing two awards for the top ranked speakers — $100 and $50 gift cards for the winner and runner-up respectively — along with a $50 gift card award to the top poster.
